On Her Majesty's Secret Service?

First off, how many people, including Bond fans, know about, or have ever heard of this film? I'm a big Bond fan, but until several months ago, I had never heard of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. My Dad had never heard of it either, and he was a Bond fan when the film came out in 1969. This film had also made the least amount of money in the box office, so it is really no surprise to me that it is not all that popular. George Lazenby played Bond once, and only once. It is also the only Bond in which James settles down with one woman and marries her. Now some of you may be saying what about Casino Royale, but that is not true. Casino Royale is meant to be the prequel to all the Bond films, so his career had not truly started. Also, Vesper Lynd, the woman Bond fell in love with in Casino Royale betrayed Bond and was not really in love with him. When talking to M in the movie after she died, M asked if he was OK, and Bond's response was "The money is in and the bitch is dead." Thus proving him not to be in love. Ultimately, On Her Majesty's Secret Service is probably the least favorite of the Bond movies, and Lazenby is the least favorite and least popular of the Bonds.

Roger Moore in A View To A Kill

A View To A Kill is an amazing film. Moore was a great Bond, not the best in my opinion, but very good. The movie starts off with Bond skiing and being chased by a bunch a henchmen trying to kill him. Then, Bond gets rid of his skis and uses a base to one of the jet skis that he destroyed and begins to SNOWBOARD!!! And to make the scene even better, Surfin' Safari by the Beach Boys is playing! But that's not all, Christopher Walken also stars in this Bond film, and for those of you that do not know yet, there is a possibility that Walken will be running for president in 2008, but that's just a rumor, so don't quote me on it. As for the creepy, jacked black chick, I don't know what they were thinking. I mean she did a good job in the movie, and she was really intimidating, Bond was even a little frightened by her, but was she meant to be a Bond girl? I hope not. Anyway, A View To A Kill has a great storyline, and there is action, oh, and more action!!! So if you have not seen A View To A Kill, go see it! If you have seen it already, go see it again!

James Bond's Aston Martin

OK, here we go with the new Aston Martin. The DBS is used by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, and although may not have as many gadgets in it as the Vanquish, or the "Vanish" as Q called it in Die Another Day. The DBS is probably the most beautiful car I have ever seen, and the best Bond car. The classic Aston Martins were gorgeous as well, but come on, the DBS is AMAZING!!! I really hope the Aston Martin is hooked up in Bond #22 which is currently in the making(woohoo)!

Sean Connery: The Bond Legend

Let's go back to the 1960's and 70's for a little while and talk about Bond Legend, Sean Connery. Connery is the most well known James Bond, even in today's generation. His ruggedness and smooth talk is probably the best of every Bond. Connery also had some of the best characters in his films, such as, Pussy Galore, Goldfinger, Oddjob and many more. Just the way he said Pussy's name pretty much made Goldfinger one of Connery's funniest Bond films. Now being that Connery's Bond films came out in the 60's and 70's, the acting in today's society may not seem great, but let's be honest, the acting is truly amazing. To top off his career as 007, Connery also got some of the best gadgets. He started the Aston Martin trend, and drove several other cars as well. He was also the only Bond to get to use a jet pack, which can be seen in Thunderball, and then the jet pack makes an appearance in Pierce Brosnan's film, Die Another Day.
Ultimately, Connery is the BEST Bond!

Daniel Craig and Casino Royale

Ok, if you have not yet seen Casino Royale, you must see it! It's still in some theaters, and it's definitely worth the over priced ticket at AMC in Danbury. Daniel Craig did an amazing job playing Bond. I must admit, I was a little skeptical when I first heard that he was going to be Bond due to the fact that he is a blond and Australian. But now, I believe Craig to be one of the best Bonds. He's rough around the edges, much like the classic Connery, but not quite as smooth as Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore. Now being that Casino Royale is meant to be the first Bond where James is upgraded to 00', the smooth talking and womanizing may come in time.
As for the movie, it was excellent. It had a great storyline, and the acting was great. The gadgets were not quite what I had expected, but once again, because Casino Royale is supposed to be the first Bond, I believe that the gadgets in later Bond films will be more unbelievable.

Who Bond is modeled after

I have recently been informed that James Bond was modeled after the one and only, Alexander the Great. For Alexander the Great, the world was not enough! So, where do we know that from? That's right, Pierce Brosnan in The World is Not Enough. Now, being that it was actually Elektra King and Renard who felt that the world was not enough, Alexander the Great would have more in connection with them. So, is it possible that Bond was based on Alexander? Sure. Is it true? I can't say.

The Pilot

Welcome everyone to the Bond Blog! This is entirely about James Bond and his gadgets. I will talk about all 21 Bond movies from 1962 through 2006. As for 007's gadgets, I will probably talk more about the cars, but will also mention his other famous gadgets such as the jet pack which Q created in Thunderball. Also, I will discuss the best scenes from each movie, and what I like and dislike about each. I want to hear what people think about Bond, and get opinions as to what is the best Bond movie, gadget, villain, and of course, the best Bond.
